WHO WILL WE COLLABORATE WITH?

The Noyo Food Forest will work with existing community groups and organizations to meet the growing needs of our unique town.  We will partner with a number of respected local groups and governmental agencies, such as the Fort Bragg City Council.  The Noyo Headlands Unified Design Group, which is working for a sustainable and restorative economic redevelopment of Fort Bragg , strongly supports the mission of the Noyo Food Forest and will work with us to expand the project.  CELL , the Coast Economic Localization Link, also supports the Noyo Food Forest and plans to link their growing volunteer base with our very concrete and productive project.  The Mendocino Coast Free Skool Project will host free workshops and related classes in the garden.  Three Rivers Learning Center , a local charter school, is excited to work with us in teaching their students about sustainable agriculture and community involvement.  We will partner with Parents and Friends Inc. to encourage alter-able community members’ participation in the project.  Many of their clients work in a small garden at their headquarters and have invaluable experience to share.

The Caspar Community Garden , the Mendocino Community Garden , and the Rainbow Farm School Garden at Redwood Elementary will support us by providing expertise and experience as we develop our project.  We in turn will support their projects through shared workdays and by advertising their events and happenings at the garden in Fort Bragg .  We will partner with the Mendocino County Youth Project and Safe Passages Family Resource Center to link at-risk youth with the project.  We in turn will support their work by connecting garden participants with their services.  Dirt Cheap will donate some materials and expertise and we will support this local business by buying most of our garden supplies from them.

We will work with various social service organizations to ensure that everyone in our community gets access to the benefits of the garden.  We intend to network and collaborate with the Food Bank, the Redwood Coast Senior Center , Sherwood Oaks Health Center , North Coast Opportunities, WIC, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Coast Community Center , Hospitality House, and others to create a strong web of support for all people in our community.  The garden will have a community bulletin board that will have information in English and Spanish about all of these community services.  The community garden in Fort Bragg will be a meeting and networking place where individuals can learn more about what our incredible community has to offer
